On July 5, 2024, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., together with the Department of Agriculture Secretary and Sulu Governor Abdusakur M. Tan, personally distributed agricultural machineries to farmer beneficiaries, underscoring the government’s commitment to strengthening the agriculture sector. The MSU Sulu College of Agriculture’s Integrated Farming and Production Center (IFPC) Demo Farm was among the recipients, receiving a shredder machine and an award certification, represented by Ma’am Fatima Nujum Akmadul and Ma’am Rhidzmalyn Rhidz Bari. This milestone, made possible through the support of MAFAR-Sulu under Provincial Director Engr. Alfie Iribani and Chief Agriculturist Sir Jun Ammak, aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) by improving food production systems, SDG 4 (Quality Education) by integrating mechanization into student training, SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) through enhanced agricultural productivity and livelihood opportunities, SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by strengthening farm mechanization and innovation, SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) through efficient resource utilization, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through multi-level collaboration between government, institutions, and communities. The IFPC shredder machine will play a crucial role in promoting sustainable farm operations and advancing agricultural education in Sulu
