Agri-Biotechnology Laboratory Exposure on Tissue Culture and Micropropagation for Sustainable Agricultural Innovation

May 2, 2024- During the Lakbay Aral of the MSU-Sulu Integrated Farming and Production Center (IFPC) team, Doc. Juliet C. Bangi, Research Coordinator of MSU Main College of Agriculture, showcased the advanced facilities and laboratory equipment of the Agri-Biotechnology Laboratory dedicated to tissue culture and micropropagation. This exposure highlights the role of biotechnology in producing disease-free, high-quality planting materials and accelerating crop propagation for sustainable food production. The activity underscores the alignment with SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) by ensuring resilient food systems, SDG 4 (Quality Education) through experiential learning and research-based training, SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by strengthening scientific research and technological capacity, SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) through resource-efficient plant propagation, and SDG 15 (Life on Land) by conserving biodiversity.
