April 25–28, 2024 – The MSU-Sulu College of Agriculture successfully celebrated its 1st Aggie Week 2024 with the theme “Celebrating our Roots and Nourishing our Future,” held at the MSU-Sulu Gymnasium. The week-long event, opened by Dean Prof. Hja. Merhama M. Sammah and graced by OIC Chancellor Prof. Hja. Rohina S. Adju, featured academic competitions, cultural showcases, and sports tournaments, promoting unity and holistic student development. With teams Oryza sativa, Cocos nucifera, Zea mays, and Ipomoea batatas competing across diverse activities, the celebration highlighted the values of collaboration, innovation, and resilience.

This milestone initiative advances SDG 4 (Quality Education) through knowledge-sharing platforms, SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by encouraging physical activities, SDG 5 (Gender Equality) through inclusive participation and recognition of student ambassadors, and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by fostering a sense of cultural identity and community spirit. Furthermore, the event exemplifies SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) as it brought together faculty, students, and stakeholders in advancing sustainable agricultural education. The culmination of Aggie Week with a vibrant color blast symbolized the institution’s commitment to a brighter, inclusive, and sustainable future.
