College of Fisheries Partners with OWWA-BARMM to Empower OFWs Through Livelihood Training

October 27, 2024 — The Faculty of the College of Fisheries, MSU-Sulu, actively participated in a two-day Livelihood Training held at the College of Fisheries on October 25–26, 2024. The training aimed to equip Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) with practical skills to enhance their livelihood opportunities and secure a more sustainable future.The program, organized and funded by OWWA Sulu, BARMM, highlighted the agency’s continuing commitment to empower OFWs through capacity building and sustainable skills development.
This initiative advances SDG 1 (No Poverty) by promoting economic resilience, SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) through improved livelihoods, SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by fostering inclusive local development, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration between academic institutions and government agencies.
