Enhancing Agricultural Competence through Practical Training in Crop Production and Land Preparation

SDG: 2: Zero hunger | Posted by: Jonel T. Alibasa | Posted: October 21, 2025

June 13, 2024 – The MSU-Sulu College of Agriculture, Patikul Extension Class, conducted a knowledge-sharing session with Ms. Virginia P. Arreza, Department Head of the Provincial Agriculture Office, who delivered an insightful lecture on Crop Production for OJT and In-Campus Practicum students. Alongside theoretical learning, students were trained in the practical use of a hand cultivator for land preparation, strengthening their hands-on agricultural skills. This initiative directly contributes to SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) by promoting sustainable food production, SDG 4 (Quality Education) through experiential learning, and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by advancing efficient resource use in farming. It also reflects SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by fostering collaboration between academic institutions and government agencies to build resilient and skilled future agriculturists.
