Evaluating the Role of Organic Fertilizers in Sustainable Rice Production at MSU Sulu IFPC

SDG: 2: Zero hunger | Posted by: Jonel T. Alibasa | Posted: October 21, 2025

On May 22, 2024, the MSU Sulu College of Agriculture, through its Integrated Farming and Production Center (IFPC), conducted a hands-on activity exploring the impact of organic fertilizers on rice production at the demo farm. This initiative advances the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) by promoting sustainable rice production for food security, SDG 4 (Quality Education) through experiential and research-based student learning, SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by reducing dependence on chemical inputs, SDG 13 (Climate Action) through environmentally friendly and climate-resilient farming practices, and SDG 15 (Life on Land) by enhancing soil fertility and preserving ecosystem balance. By integrating education, research, and sustainability, the IFPC continues to build a strong foundation for future agricultural leaders committed to resilient and eco-conscious food systems.
