Expository Learning on Integrated Farming Systems and Crop Management for Sustainable Agricultural Development

June 8, 2024 – The MSU-Sulu College of Agriculture, Patikul Extension Class, held a combined expository activity at the Sulu Agricultural Farm under the leadership of Prof. Hja. Merhama M. Sammah, MSA, Acting Dean of the College of Agriculture, and advisory faculty Prof. Nedzfa A. Ahajani and Ms. Neriza J. Kiram. The program featured an orientation by Ms. Virginia P. Arreza, Department Head of the Sulu Provincial Agricultural Farm, who shared her expertise on Integrated Farming and Crop Management. Students were also given a practical demonstration on the use of a hand cultivator by Agricultural Technician Mr. Sadjan U. Arajani, deepening their technical skills and appreciation for sustainable farming practices. This initiative supports SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) by promoting improved food systems, SDG 4 (Quality Education) through experiential learning, SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by advocating sustainable practices, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration with government agricultural institutions. Such activities embody the spirit of applied learning, bridging theory and practice to prepare future agriculturists for real-world challenges.
