MSU-Sulu SHS attends Seminar on CHED Memorandum Order No: 03, Series of 2022

Last Oct 02, 2024, at least 4 MSU-Sulu SSC officers and 3 faculty members of the Senior High School department participated in the Seminar on CHED Memorandum Order No: 03, Series of 2022, also known as GENDER- BASED SEXUAL HARASSMENT IN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS.
The student officers were Mar’a Sakandal, Denrajeev Jundam, Elyssa Solomon, and Khanzas Ainie Julkarnain, and together with them were Ms. Arniza J. Kiram, Mrs. Shaira J. Balla, and Ms. Ayessa B. Jailani. Representatives from other college departments and student organizations of the MSU-Sulu were also present, including the MSU-Sulu Chancellor, Dr. Nagder J. Abdurahman, who conferred honor on the event with his message.
The seminar was conducted by the MSU-Sulu Office of the Gender and Development, headed by Prof. Grace Akala, Director of GAD. The lecturer was Atty. Shervilyn Jaladil, one of the faculty members of the MSU-Sulu College of Law. The lecture focused on the purpose of ensuring that every higher institutions, both public and private, has policies and mechanisms that can prevent and punish sexual harassment and other related sexual offenses inside the school's premises. The seminar was also conducted to teach the students and teachers the importance of protecting the rights of each stakeholders against Gender-Based Sexual Harassment (GBSH).
The event took place at the Raja Baginda Hall of MSU-Sulu with Prof. Edwin Tantalie as the Master of Ceremony.
