Strengthening Academic Engagement and Sustainable Crop Utilization through Harvest Activities at MSU Main Demo Farm During Lakbay Aral of IFPC Team
SDG: 2: Zero hunger | Posted by: Jonel T. Alibasa | Posted: October 21, 2025
On May 2, 2024, the MSU-Sulu IFPC team visited the MSU Main Campus Demo Farm, where they witnessed the harvest of bananas—ready to be picked, peeled, and enjoyed—while also engaging in a short discussion with faculty and staff of the College of Agriculture. The visit highlighted the significance of integrating crop production with knowledge exchange, fostering both agricultural learning and community building. This activity contributes to SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) by promoting local food availability, SDG 4 (Quality Education) through experiential learning, SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by emphasizing sustainable harvesting and responsible utilization of resources, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening collaboration between institutions and stakeholders. Beyond the harvest, the engagement underscored the vital role of agricultural demo farms as platforms for education, innovation, and sustainability.
