SDG: 2: Zero hunger | Posted by: Prof. Abubakar J. Radjuni | Posted: October 23, 2025
August 14, 2024, the MSU Sulu College of Agriculture, through its Integrated Farming and Production Center (IFPC), received a rice thresher and other essential farm inputs and machinery generously donated by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) Sulu. With special recognition to Chief Agriculturist Jun Ammak and Provincial Director Engr. Alfie Iribani, this initiative strengthens the integration of modern farm mechanization in agricultural education and community-based production. The donation is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) by boosting food production and security, SDG 4 (Quality Education) by enhancing practical and technological training for students, SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by improving agricultural productivity and livelihood opportunities, SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) through the adoption of modern agricultural machinery, SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by promoting efficiency in resource use, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through strong collaboration between institutions. This milestone reaffirms MSU Sulu’s commitment to sustainable agricultural development, innovation, and capacity-building in the province.
