SDG: 2: Zero hunger | Posted by: Prof. Abubakar J. Radjuni | Posted: October 23, 2025
On August 14, 2024, the Integrated Farming and Production Center (IFPC) of MSU Sulu College of Agriculture conducted an extension service on sustainable farming systems in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) and the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAg). The activity, attended by local government units (LGUs) and farmers from the municipalities of Indanan and Maimbung, emphasized the promotion of climate-resilient and environmentally responsible agricultural practices. This initiative is closely aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) by enhancing food production and security, SDG 4 (Quality Education) through farmer training and knowledge-sharing, SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by supporting livelihood opportunities, SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) through sustainable resource management, SDG 13 (Climate Action) by integrating climate-smart agriculture, SDG 15 (Life on Land) by advancing agroecological practices, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through multi-sectoral collaboration. The extension service highlights MSU Sulu’s commitment to fostering sustainable agricultural development and community empowerment in Sulu.
